Thinking about Thinking
In a world ripe with the elitism of the intelligentsia, the half-assed musings of psuedo-philosophers, and the dogmatic tripe of so-called "freethinkers," I started thinking about what it means to be a thinking person.
I was reminded today of why I think.
It is because I am not content to accept ideas when they are placed in front of me without questioning.
To think is to ask why.
I love to learn, but even more, I yearn to understand. It is not enough for me to merely consider an idea; I must engage it with all the force of my ability, until I can own it or disown it, not blithely, but with the assurance that I have given it due thought.
